Joe LaVigne

In 2020, I founded the Huron Endurance and Resources Project (HERP) 501c3. The mission of the organization is threefold:

1.) promote physical and mental well-being

2.) encourage a spirit of endurance sport in northeast Michigan

3.) encourage environmental stewardship throughout northeast Michigan

Our keystone event is the Bay to Beacon Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K that runs along the Lake Huron Coast in northeast Michigan. Over the past 5 years, HERP has raised over $6,000 donated to The Sunset Project, The Friends of Negwegon State Park, and The Alcona Historical Society.

Since 2023, I have served on the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Public Policy Committee.
